There’s no need for e-cigarettes and vaping to be mysterious or daunting to new users. The fundamentals of vaping are simple, straightforward and accessible to everyone.

E-cigarettes are electronic devices that deliver nicotine in an inhalable vapour. This can simulate tobacco smoking and makes e-cigarettes a convenient alternative to cigarettes for individuals trying to quit smoking. E-cigarettes do not contain tobacco and do not produce tar, carbon monoxide or a number of the other harmful chemicals found in cigarettes. Although there are some risk associated with vaping, EDGE vaping products produce 98.81% less harmful chemicals than cigarettes*.

All e-cigarettes are made up of four basic parts; a battery, a heating element, a tank and a mouthpiece. The battery powers the heating element, which is commonly known as a coil and sometimes referred to as an atomiser. The e-cigarette tank holds an e-liquid. E-liquids are most often made from Vegetable Glycerol, Propylene Glycol, Nicotine and Flavourings. The e-liquid is vaporised when the coil is heated and the vapour is drawn up through the mouthpiece. Some vaping devices incorporate the coil into prefilled e-liquid tanks known as pods.

Using an e-cigarette is known as vaping, and it is a very simple process. Depending on the vaping device, the battery is activated either by pressing a button or by the user inhaling. The battery sends a current through the coil to hear it and the heated coil vaporises a small portion of the e-liquid. The vapour is inhaled through the mouthpiece and delivers the nicotine to the user. The large clouds associated with vaping are simply exhaled vapour.

At EDGE we are committed to making vaping available to anyone who wants to use it as a tool to support smoking cessation. We strive to supply easy to use, effective devices and produce the safest e-liquids in the world.

* When compared to three leading cigarette brands. This does not necessarily equal a 98.81% reduction in risk.
