Aspire Loomix Vape Kit Review
If you've been vaping for some time, there's a very good chance you've heard of Aspire, or even use their vape kits. They remain a strong player in the industry, providing some of the best vape kits at an affordable price.
Their wide catalogue of devices ranges from cheaper kits to more high-end options, with the Loomix sitting somewhere in between.
Despite this middle-range price point, I'll cover why I believe the Loomix is much more than a middle-range device. Read on for more background behind Aspire, the Loomix, and why I believe this device may be a great choice for you.

About The Aspire Loomix: A One-Size-Fits-All For Vaping
Developed by Aspire. a long-standing performer that lives and breathes efficiency, the Loomix combines a simple interface with strong and reliable performance. While some may view this simplicity as cheap or lacking in quality, it is where Aspire truly shines in putting their power into the device itself.
At 27W with a 1,500mAh battery and two power modes, there's many features that make it stand out as much more than a basic device.
Nonetheless, Aspire are outspoken in its goal of 'simplicity in every puff', meaning that there's intent behind the inner and outer design through and through.

When you buy the Aspire Loomix device, you'll receive:

Look & Feel
On immediate inspection, the Loomix is a sleek, simplistic device that most vapers should have no trouble using and manoeuvring around.
It looks like quite a standard pod kit with no standout features on inspection, but a nice range of colour options such as Black, White, Gunmetal and Purple Gold.
I really liked the combination of these colours with the simplistic design, as it allows the intricate and minimalist impression to shine through. I appreciate a simple and easy-to-use design over a flashy underperforming one.
This particularly shows in the feel of the device, comfortable during use and easily fits in any pocket or bag with room to rummage.
Another surprise that isn't immediately obvious is that the Loomix has a screen. This communicates important info such as power mode and battery life - something that not all vapes have the luxury of doing. -
Functionality
Functionailty is where the Loomix absolutely shines. While it might look like any other vape kit at a glance, there's a lot behind the functions of the device.
To start, 28W is a strong output for a device at this price, allowing useability with most e-liquids. This is further benefitted by the choice of power modes, which can prioritise boosting battery life and flavour respectively.
At 1,500mAh, the battery should easily last well over a full day before charging, even at higher power modes. Coil heating is well-efficient, meaning your e-liquid will last but still provide strong hits, regardless of battery life.
A true standout with this device's functionality is coil lifespan. I found that the 0.8ohm coil I used for a prolonged period showed nearly no signs of wear or poor performance over a much above-average time period.
Devices don't get much more reliable than this, and if you find yourself replacing your vape coils less, you'll also notice the benefit to your wallet in less regular pod replacements.
Getting Set Up: How To Use Loomix Cartridges
The Loomix packaging contains an 0.8ohm cartridge by default, although there are other options available. EDGE stocks 0.6 and 1.0ohm pods.
To use a Loomix pod, follow the instructions below:
- If pre-attached, remove the pod from the battery.
- Peel off the protective sticker located on the bottom of the pod.
- Locate the fill port on the top of the device, opening it outwards.
- Insert your e-liquid bottle tip into the fill port, gently squeezing to not overfill.
- Close the filling port, reinsert the pod into the device battery, and leave for 5 minutes to allow soaking.
- Once soaked, enjoy your vape!
Ohms & Watts: Loomix Pods Explained
The Loomix has a strong range of pod options, ranging from 0.4 all the way to 1.2ohms. This makes it ideal for all vapers, being compatible with freebase, nic salt and even high-VG e-liquids in a pinch, though I'd suggest a higher wattage device for best HVG performance.
On insertion, the Loomix will automatically adjust to the wattage necessary to match the ohm resistance of the pod. This means that the only further input you need to add as the user is to power mode.
The pod options are as follows:
0.4ohm Loomix Coil
Being the lowest ohm rating available, the 0.4ohm pod works best with nic salts, and to an extent can be used with high-VG e-liquid. I'd certainly say it's designed with nic salts in mind, offering a very strong and flavourful hit, whilst retaining the classic nic salt smoothness. Freebase e-liquid is much better suited to a higher ohm coil, as 0.4ohms will overheat and drain your e-liquid much faster. High-VG e-liquid will work with an 0.4ohm coil, but I'd recommend using it with a better suited device with a higher wattage.
0.6ohm Loomix Coil
Similarly to the 0.4ohm coil, the 0.6ohm coil works best with nic salts. I'd advise steering completely clear of high-VG e-liquid and only using freebase e-liquid if necessary. This would be the go-to option for most nic salt users, offering a mild throat hit and strong flavour, whilst not being too overwhelming. I'd suggest anything from the EDGE LIQ range at 0.6ohms.
From here onwards you can tailor up or down depending on how you prefer your flavour and throat hit intensity.
0.8ohm Loomix Coil
Similarly, the 0.8ohm coil works great with nic salts, but also further opens compatibility towards working better with freebase e-liquids. The device comes with this coil equipped already, and I would definitely push for vapers that are unsure of their coil preference to try 0.8ohms first. It's a middle-ground between all the options available, and while it is a great coil to use in general, it can help those unsure to determine if they want to move up or down in coil resistance.
1.0ohm Loomix Coil
This coil is best suited for freebase e-liquid, providing a stronger throat hit and still a generous burst of flavour. I'd suggest using nic salts with only the other options, as this coil won't handle it as well. You may also notice that your e-liquid lifespan and battery life last slightly longer compared to other coils. This coil rating is best for ex-smokers, most particularly if you're a recent ex-smoker.

Tailoring Your Vaping Experience With The Loomix
The Loomix has two power modes as following:
- Eco Mode - Regular intensity, lower than the power mode - this mode will provide good flavour whilst prioritising device battery life
- Power Mode - A stronger mode that emphasises flavour, but can drain battery life faster than the ECO mode - good if you have a charger handy
Usability: Aspire Loomix Battery Level
With a 1,500mAh battery, the Loomix is at a slightly above average battery capacity for a vape kit. The battery does tend to last longer than one would expect due to the efficiency of the kits power features however, especially on the ECO mode.
Even on PWR mode, I still saw a good amount of use that easily lasted over a day. This was convenient as I could routinely charge every morning and not worry about overly-checking my battery life. It consistently was available and didn't make any draws weaker at lower levels.
Vape Juice Options: Which E-Liquid Works Best With The Aspire Loomix Vape Kit?
Given that there is a wide range of pod options available, all ranging between 0.4-1.0ohms, I'd confidently suggest that any 50/50 e-liquid is a good match for the Loomix, granted you're using the appropriate coil for the job.
In my own experience, if you're using the 1.0ohm coil, you'd be best off using freebase e-liquid, such as our EDGE Core range. You can also use freebase with the 0.8ohm, though I'd suggest trying both to see which is preferable.
For 0.8ohms and below, nic salts work great. You can choose any of the e-liquids from the EDGE LIQ range; all should work perfectly with 0.8ohms and below. I used the EDGE LIQ Orange Soda e-liquid with a 0.6ohm coil and found it worked very well with this coil.
Although a 0.4ohm coil is available with this device, I'd still advise against using high-VG e-liquid. This is better suited for devices with a higher wattage, and while you may have some success in using it, there are still devices that are much better equipped.

Summary: Should You Buy The Aspire Loomix Vape Kit?
I'd recommend the Aspire Loomix to most vapers. It has enough features to benefit experienced vapers, whilst being simple enough for new vapers to understand and allowing room to customise down the road. If you care about reliability, good battery life and a strong range of compatibility options across e-liquids, you can't go wrong when using the Loomix.
While it's not a flashy or overly eye-catching device, it's not meant to be. It's a solid vape kit that is reliable and durable. The mid-range £17.99 price point covers some of the best pod and battery tech I've seen in some time, especially in a device at this price.
Although the device is simplistic enough, features such as power modes and a screen allow some versatility and tweaking for a personalised experience. If you want a device that is sure to last over time, has strong compatibility and is fairly priced, the Loomix is absolutely worth buying.
