About The GeekVape Wenax Q2: Luxury Inside and Out
GeekVape is one of the largest vaping companies , with 10+ years in the business, equally known for its flashy kits as much as its strong functionality. This especially applies to the Wenax Q2, which by all standards conforms to what a luxury device should look like.
The quality is further reflected in the device specs, reaching a maximum of 30W output and variable wattage features. It also has a menu, smart mode and adjustable airflow, ticking all the boxes for a customisable and luxury vaping experience.
The Q2 joins an already strong range of devices including the Sonder Q2, a more budget-friendly device and the Wenax Q Pro, a similarly high-tech device.

Look & Feel
As mentioned, the luxurious appearance of this kit is the first standout. With design finishes specifically modelled to emphasise this, the colour options further complement the leather finish.
On that note in particular, the leather finish makes the device very comfortable to hold and feels like much more than just a choice for aesthetic purposes.
The kit is about average size, making it convenient to carry around in your pocket or baggage.
Ultimately I'd say you can judge if you'd like the device from how it looks. I personally like the leather feeling and appearance, but I'm aware this is based on personal preference. Nonetheless, GeekVape has kept quite a true-to-life feel on how theirs feels and looks.

Functionality
The Wenax Q2 performs considerably well, granted the many features and menu functions it's equipped with.
When inserting a pod, it will immediately adjust via Smart Mode to an appropriate wattage setting. From here, you have the option to manually adjust, or simply use it as is.
For this reason, I'd say the functionality of the kit at a base level is accessible to beginners. The style of the kit is quite standard, and functions can be as straightforward or complex as you're willing to go.
For more advanced vapers, variable wattage and airflow settings can be readily adjusted.
Ranging from 8-30W output, there's a good range for all vapers, making it a great device for personalisation.
Getting Set Up: How To Use GeekVape Pods
The GeekVape Wenax Q2 device arrives with 0.6 and 0.8ohm coils, with the 0.8 attached. EDGE also has 1.2ohm coils available.
To use a Wenax Q cartridge, follow the instructions below:
- Detach the pod from the battery.
- Peel off the protective sticker located on the bottom of the pod.
- Remove the mouthpiece, revealing the fill port.
- Insert your e-liquid bottle tip into the fill port, gently squeezing to not overfill.
- Close the filling port, reinsert the pod into the device battery, and leave for 5 minutes to allow the e-liquid time to soak.
- Once ready, enjoy your vape!
Ohms & Watts: Q Pods Explained
The 3 coils available cover most bases for the Wenax Q2, with the 2 coils included with the kit being suited especially to nic salts, and the 0.8ohm coil particularly great for freebase e-liquids, such as the EDGE Core range.
You can also adjust wattage accordingly using the device settings.
The pod options are as follows:
0.6ohm Wenax Q Coil
This coil will work best with the EDGE LIQ range. Traditionally, lower ohm coils work better at higher wattages with nic salts, and the Wenax Q2 is designed to work in harmony with nic salts. By combining the above setup, you'll see impactful flavour and a smooth draw. I tried EDGE LIQ Peach Ice, which much suited this setup.
Recommended wattage - 8-30W
0.8ohm Wenax Q Coil
The 0.8ohm coil serves as a mid-range point between compatibility with freebase and nic salt e-liquids. For nic salts, it adds a slight throat-hit but retains strong flavour, and is a great starting point for unsure vapers. For freebase, the throat-hit is slightly less intense than 1.2ohms, with stronger flavour. If you prefer the traditional cigarette feel when vaping, we'd suggest the 1.2, but for an inbetween or if unsure, try 0.8ohms with freebase or nic salts.
Recommended wattage - 8-16W
1.2ohm Wenax Q Coil
1.2ohms is the highest option available, best suited only to freebase e-liquids. It may struggle with nic salts. If you've recently stopped smoking, or simply prefer the sensation of a throat-hit, I'd definitely suggest looking towards this coil rating. Using Vanilla Tobacco e-liquid with this coil worked well to this standard.

Tailoring Your Vaping Experience With The Wenax Q2
The Wenax Q2 allows variable wattage, or alternatively Smart Mode, which adjusts wattage according to whatever pod is inserted. This is great for newer vapers, or if you want to start vaping at the recommended settings from the get-go without interruption.
With wattage ranging from 8-30W, the Wenax Q2 is very much customisable.
Usability: GeekVape Wenax Q2 Battery Level
The Wenax Q2 has a respectable 1,250mAh battery, which while not the biggest on the market, should last you a full day of vaping with relative ease.
It also has fast charging, ensuring your device is fully charged in about 30 minutes. This is especially handy if, like myself, you find that you're constantly forgetting to charge and are short on time.
Vape Juice Options: Which E-Liquid Works Best With The GeekVape Wenax Q2 Vape Kit?
While the Wenax Q2 has a range of coils available, across the board, it's best suited to nic salt vape juice.
When experimenting, I concluded that 0.8ohms and 1.2ohms work best with the EDGE Core range, but you may want to try both and see what better suits your own tastes. For more intensity, 0.8ohms suits and for more throat-hit, similar to traditional cigarettes, 1.2ohms is better.
For nic salts, 0.6ohms or 0.8ohms works great. I put both to the test with the same EDGE LIQ Vanilla Custard e-liquid and found while both gave a similar, strong hit, the 0.6 had just that extra punch to it, similar to that found in disposable vapes.
If using 0.6ohms, I'd still advise against using high-VG e-liquid. This device is designed to work best with 50/50 e-liquids, and there are simply better suited devices available for high-VG e-liquids.

Summary: Should You Buy The GeekVape Wenax Q2 Vape Kit?
Overall, I would recommend the GeekVape Wenax Q2 vape kit. At its price point and device specs, it's a very fairly priced kit offering luxury vaping with a luxury appearance.
It works to a very strong standard with 50/50 e-liquids, such as the EDGE Core and EDGE LIQ range. While I typically use nic salts, and do believe this device is better suited for them, I was pleasantly surprised by the versatility.
In addition, the menu screen adds an extra layer of luxury and personality, allowing you to conveniently tailor the device's functions and see important information.
