In this blog I'll cover my experience with the Innokin Plexus Pro vape kit. This will explore what e-liquids work best with it, as well as what coil resistance you should use with your respective e-liquid of choice.

About The Innokin Plexus Pro: 10 Years of Improvements
Innokin are a long-standing manufacturer of a wide range of vape kits. Part of what makes their standing in the industry so strong is their 10+ years of experience in developing in-tube devices.
The Plexus Pro releases alongside the Plexus Go - a more simplified rendition of the Pro, but both a testament to Innokin's work thus far.

Look & Feel
The Innokin Plexus Pro is notably a pen kit, which though now are not as popular as pod-style kits, are still quite prevalent among vapers.
The popularity mostly stems from longer-term vapers who are used to the style, but often has been inherited by newer vapers too due to the preference of how it feels to hold.
In terms of colour options, I like the use of the metallic design to accomodate each colour. I used the purple version, though EDGE stocks black, grey, blue and purple.
While I'm primarily used to pod style kits, I quite liked the ergonomics of the pen style. It felt comfortable to hold and use in general.
That being said, compared to the commonly used pod device, the Plexus Pro is a little larger. I didn't find this to be an issue during use, but carrying it around felt notably just a slight bit more heavy.
There's also a small screen on the front of the kit, displaying important information about it such as wattage and battery level. -
Functionality
The Plexus Pro functions very well, in general being a great answer to combining a pen style kit with newer tech.
Being a 25W device at peak performance, it will work great with both freebase and nic salt e-liquids, making it a flexible option for the majority of vapers.
Pressing the power button three times consecutively enables the wattage adjustment mode, allowing you to change wattage in increments of 1W per click. Alternatively, the smart mode chooses an appropriate wattage level for your equipped pod.
The 1,350 mAh battery supports this wattage level, allowing you to easily get a full day of vaping from this device. For even more power or battery length, the variable wattage and smart mode option allow you to find the perfect balance between your e-liquid and device setting.
Overall in terms of functionality, it's a reliable device with a good range of modes, easily communicated through a convenient screen.
Getting Set Up: How To Use Plexus Cartridges
While the Plexus Pro device arrives with two cartridges, 0.8ohms and 0.6ohms, EDGE also stocks 1.2ohms.
To use a Plexus cartridge, follow the instructions below:
- If pre-attached, remove the cartridge from the battery.
- Peel off the protective sticker located on the bottom.
- Locate the fill port at the top of the cartridge by sliding the mouthpiece.
- Insert your e-liquid bottle tip into the fill port, gently squeezing to not overfill.
- Close the filling port, reinsert the pod into the device battery, and leave for 5 minutes to allow soaking.
- Once soaked, enjoy your vape!
Ohms & Watts: Plexus Cartridges Explained
While there's only 3 ohm ratings available for the cartridges, they cover most bases for the Plexus Pro. It arrives with a 0.6ohm coil pre-attached and a 0.8ohm coil as a spare or alternative.
When using any of the cartridges, you have the option of tailoring your own wattage through the device menu, or allowing the device's smart mode to do the technical work for you. For advanced vapers especially, this level of control will be appreciated.
The pod options are as follows:
0.6ohm Plexus Pro Coil
For nic salts especially, 0.6 may be your best choice. Seeing as the device arrives with both 0.6 and 0.8ohms, you have the opportunity to try each with nic salts, with 0.6 offering a stronger and smoother hit. I found it works ideally with any nic salt e-liquid from the EDGE LIQ range The iTaste tech makes the absolute most of the double concentrated flavouring used in our nic salts, ensuring maximum flavour delivery.
Recommended wattage - 6-25W
0.8ohm Plexus Pro Coil
In a similar sense, the 0.8ohm coil works just as well with nic salts, utilising the pod tech and giving off just slightly more of a throat hit, which can feel somewhat closer to traditional cigarettes. Some vapers prefer this throat hit, so it ultimately depends on how you enjoy vaping. It's also a good middle ground as it can be used with freebase e-liquids. If you want to have the convenience of choice between freebase and nic salt e-liquid, 0.8ohms is a good medium.
Recommended wattage - 6-16W
1.2ohm Plexus Pro Coil
The highest available option, 1.2ohms is strictly best used with freebase e-liquid and will struggle to heat nic salts properly. This coil will have the closest sensation to smoking traditional cigarettes, which can be useful to newer vapers who want to make a smoother transition away from smoking. Similarly, if you already use freebase e-liquid and don't want to try nic salts, 1.2ohms is the best option specifically for freebase.

Tailoring Your Vaping Experience With The Plexus Pro
The Plexus Pro functions through either a smart mode, or manual wattage. Smart mode triggers automatically, adjusting the wattage to the recommended setting based on the cartridge inserted. Alternatively, if you want to adjust the wattage yourself, by clicking 3 times consecutively, you'll access wattage selection. Wattage can be selected in increments of 1W.
Usability: Innokin Plexus Pro Battery Level
The Plexus Pro sits at a respectable 1,350mAh battery, which gives a full day of vaping between charging. While there are devices that have higher batteries, 1,350mAh is a good level at the £15.99 price point.
The device is also equipped with 2A fast-charging, allowing you to achieve a full charge in 30 minutes. Though it doesn't come with a charging cable, so be sure to find an applicable one.
Vape Juice Options: Which E-Liquid Works Best With The Innokin Plexus Pro Vape Kit?
With the range of ohm ratings available, the Plexus Pro is a flexible kit with many types of e-liquid.
Following some experimenting, I decided that 0.8ohms and 1.2ohms work best with the EDGE Core range. Whichever works better from there is simply a matter of personal taste. The 1.2ohm offers a more discreet experience where the 0.8 delivers a little more flavour intensity but with a bit more vapour.
The 0.6ohm coil attached to the device on arrival works great with nic salts. On trying the EDGE LIQ Strawberry Ice e-liquid with the pre-attached coil, I immediately found that the iTaste tech made a big impact on the flavours of the e-liquid, working great together.
Since 0.6ohms is the lowest available resistance, and the wattage isn't majorly high, I wouldn't recommend high-VG e-liquid. This device is designed to work with 50/50 e-liquids only, there are simply better applicable devices to use with high-VG.

Summary: Should You Buy The Innokin Plexus Pro Vape Kit?
As far as vape kits go, the Plexus Pro is a good match for most vapers. The option between smart mode and manual wattage makes the device accessible for vapers from beginner to advanced.
Across the board, any 50/50 e-liquids used with the Plexus Pro also benefit from the included iTaste tech featured in pods. This pushes extra flavour on these e-liquids, most particularly when using the double concentrate flavoured nic salts. It's a sure upgrade from entry level device gear.
With the convenient addition of a screen, the Plexus Pro is a strong contender for a mid-range price vape kit. I'd recommend it to vapers who already use, or want to use a pen-style kit, or simply any vaper looking for a reasonably priced upgrade.
