After the major success of the Xros Pro, as well as the many other kits neatly packed into Vaporesso's growing Xros range, the Xros Pro 2 was much-awaited and long-expected to release.
Many cite the sleek design, fair price point and wide range of features as to why it's a favourite that people keep returning to, and after using the Xros Pro 2 for some time, I can't help but agree.
In this blog, I'll cover my own thoughts on the Xros Pro 2, including my personal pros, cons and who I think this device is best suitable for.
About The Vaporesso Xros Pro 2: Power Meets Reliability
Being one of the most popular and reputable vaping brands in the UK, Vaporesso carry a lot of weight behind their products. This reputation holds not only in the UK, but worldwide, with many vapers enjoying and returning to their premium kits.
The Xros range is by far Vaporesso's most popular, encompassing some of their best-designed kits such as the Xros 5. Featuring Corex tech, the latest products in the Xros range are by far the best, with the Pro 2 being a huge upgrade to flavour, power settings and battery size.
This, of course, follows the original Xros Pro, which is a great kit in its own right. The Xros Pro 2 has 67% more battery than the original, as well as a 'Super Pulse' mode which ensures that hits remain as powerful even when the battery is running low.

Look & Feel
The Xros Pro 2 is a luxury kit. This is clear from both its look externally, but also its feel in the material, ergonomics and weight.
The design reflects this, with aerospace-grade alloy material acting as a dual-purpose unit for both sturdiness and lightness. In consideration of the high battery count, I was surprised at how light the Xros Pro 2 is.
The fairly discreet screen is a nice touch in my opinion. By being built into the frame design itself, it doesn't add any extra area space, whilst justifying its own space on the device.
As well as having some nicely varied aesthetics options, the layout of the device, including the screen and button placement are considerably thought out and feel satisfying to use in my experience. -
Functionality
It should come as no surprise that the Xros Pro 2 excels in functionality. It isn't the simplest device to use, but with a single-button interface and a user manual included in the packaging, newer vapers should be able to pick up on the ins and outs.
Irregardless of your experience, you can still pick the Xros Pro 2 up and use it out of the box. Though we would still suggest trying out different modes and functions once you're more experienced with the kit.
The functions operate very well, with different menu modes, theme options and even a puff count tracker. If you need to save energy there's an ECO mode available, and similarly a PWR mode if you want a stronger hit.
After trying the modes with different e-liquids, I found that using nic salts on the PWR mode gave the best experience for me, giving a similar taste to that of disposable vapes.
Getting Set Up: How To Use Xros Cartridges
The Vaporesso Xros Pro 2 comes with a 0.4ohm and 0.6ohm pod, both ideal for nic salt vaping. Both pods have new COREX 3.0 technology, ensuring maximum flavour in every hit.
You can use prior renditions of Xros pods, though the Xros Pro 0.4ohm pod will enable the most customisation across your device - this means higher wattage and more power.
To use an Xros Pro pod, follow the below steps:
- Remove the pod from the kit if pre-installed and remove protective film from contact points
- Carefully move the mouthpiece to one side, unclipping it from the top of the pod to expose the filling port
- Insert your e-liquid bottle into the filling valve
- Gently squeeze the bottle, ensuring not to overfill
- Close the fill port and put the mouthpiece back in place to cover the filling valve
- Put the pod back into the kit, leaving 5 minutes for absorption, after this it's ready for use
Ohms & Watts: Xros Pro Pods Explained
The Xros Pro 2 is capable of reaching up to 30W output, being a very powerful device if used with low-resistance pods. For nic salt vapers particularly, the 0.4 or 0.6ohm pods included with the device will suffice perfectly for this.
Upon inserting either pod, the Xros Pro 2 will automatically adjust its settings to best suit the pod inserted. From here onwards, you can tailor your vaping experience through different power modes, or try any of the different coil ratings available.
The pod options are as follows:
0.4ohm Xros Pro Coil
As well as being the lowest resistance coil available, the 0.4ohm Xros Pro coil is unique in that it allows the widest range for wattage customisation. While you can tailor your settings with the Xros Pro 2, this pod is designed directly for the Pro kit, and will allow you to make the most of its features. Even if you usually use higher ohm pods, it's worth trying this pod as it comes with the kit. I tried the 0.4ohm Xros Pro Coil immediately after receiving the kit, with EDGE LIQ Cherry Cola nic salts and can confidently say that this kit is well-designed for nic salt vaping. High-VG e-liquid can be used with this pod, though there are definitely better suited ones available.
0.6ohm Xros Coil
Similarly, the 0.6ohm coil is included with the kit. This doesn't offer as much customisation, but is still influenced by the COREX 3.0 tech, providing a strong flavourful hit with any nic salt e-liquids. While worth noting that 0.8ohm tends to be the average and most popular coil rating, the Xros Pro 2 is a powerful device intended for use with a range of e-liquids. Therefore, the inclusion of an 0.6ohm pod with the device encourages sub-ohm vaping with nic salts, which is where this device excels.
0.8ohm Xros Coil
Though not included with this particular device, 0.8ohms is the most middle-range coil choice, offering compatibility with both nic salt and freebase e-liquid equally. Using either of these, you'll see a flavour increase from the COREX 3.0 tech, and possibly may notice a slight throat hit when vaping.
1.0ohm Xros Coil
For freebase e-liquids, 1.0ohm and above is best ideal. While the Xros Pro 2 is, in my experience, better suited to nic salt e-liquids, higher-resistance pod options are available, making the device versatile for use with most e-liquids. Anything from the EDGE Core range works best with this coil.
1.2ohm Xros Coil
1.2ohms is the highest ohms rating available, best suited for freebase e-liquids. Nic salt vapers will want to avoid this coil rating, as throat hit will be stronger and nic salts won't work anywhere near as efficiently. For freebase vapers however, a strong throat hit similar to smoking cigarettes and flavour enhancement from the COREX 3.0 tech will make this a standout device for this type of e-liquid.

Tailoring Your Vaping Experience With The Xros Pro 2
As well as a strong range of coil options, there is a lot of room for customisation with this device. Through the menu and button functions, you can tailor your experience across several menu functions:
- Eco Mode - Less intense hits allow a prolonged battery life.
- Smart Mode - A mode that makes the Xros Pro 2 accessible, adjusting settings automatically based on the chosen pod.
- Super Pulse Mode - Debatably why this kit is so popular, the Super Pulse Mode provides much stronger flavour hits at the cost more power on use. Despite this, power hits remain strong even at lower battery levels.
Usability: Vaporesso Xros Pro 2 Battery Level
Exact battery life can be found through the screen display. You should have no trouble with the battery itself, granted the huge 2,000mAh capacity. This is 67% larger when compared to the original Xros Pro, a sure upgrade. If you vape a lot, you'll still easily see your vape lasting over a day's use, and even if it does run out, charging is as fast as around 30 minutes to full.
Vape Juice Options: Which E-Liquid Works Best With The Vaporesso Xros Pro 2 Vape Kit?
There's a long range of coil options across the Xros range as a whole, but it goes without saying that the 0.4ohm coil is best for making the most of your device overall. It allows more range in the settings, and maximum use of the COREX 3.0 tech.
Firstly, nic salts are most clear as the main option for this kit. Anything from our EDGE LIQ range will work perfectly with the 0.4 or 0.6ohm pods provided. Similarly, any sub-ohm pods will accomodate nic salts, with the COREX 3.0 making the most of the double concentrated flavours in nic salts.
For freebase e-liquid, try anything above 0.8ohms for the best experience. Even when using freebase you'll still notice enhanced flavours from the Xros Pro 2's hidden tech and settings, though not to the same extent as with nic salts on lower wattage.
High-VG e-liquids can be used with the 0.4ohm coil, though there are admittedly better-suited devices for this. I tried EDGE Elite Menthol HVG e-liquid, and while it did work well with the kit, there are devices made specifically to handle HVG better.
