E-Liquid

All E-liquids contain the same 4 ingredients in varying amounts between recipes: Propylene Glycol (PG), Vegetable Glycerol (VG), Flavouring and either Freebase or Salt Nicotine. Which we discuss in more detail here.

There are many e-liquids to choose in a variety of different flavours and strengths, but almost all of them can be broken down into three simple categories:

50-50

The most common variety of e-liquid; 50-50 blends are a popular starting point for new vapers due to their broad range of nicotine strengths (0mg, 3mg, 6mg, 12mg & 18mg) such as those found in the EDGE Core range.

Thanks to their balanced ratio of PG and VG, they are best suited for use in lower powered devices with a coil rating of 1.0ohm or above, such as the EDGE Pro device.

High-VG (HVG)

HVG e-liquids use a higher ratio of VG to PG, which can be found in our Elite, EDGE Base and EDGE Max ranges, where we utilise an 80:20 ratio, where 80% is VG and 20% is PG.

This ratio means they produce bigger clouds of vapor, but limits their nicotine strength to either 0mg, 3mg or 6mg.

Because VG is a thick substance, it means HVG e-liquids should only be used in “sub-ohm” devices with a coil rating below 1.0ohm.

Nic Salts

Nic salt e-liquids work in the same way as 50-50s, however, they use a specially modified salt nicotine instead of traditional freebase.

This special nicotine satisfies your cravings faster and for longer, while also being extremely smooth to vape, even at higher strengths, thanks to a neutral pH level as found in our EDGE Smooth collection.

Coils

Coils are a vital part of any e-cigarette. They are typically a metallic element wrapped around a wick which absorbs the e-liquid in your device.  This then heats up using power from the battery, vaporising the e-liquid for you to inhale. Over time however they degrade and will need to be replaced. They can be a complicated part of any vaping journey, but EDGE have made it simple thanks to our innovative patented technology.

Safety and Compliance

No matter your choice it’s important to vape safely. All e-liquids manufactured in the UK must follow strict rules and standards as a part of the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) that are designed to protect you.

It can be helpful when you are starting vaping to understand the quality and compliance process so you can ensure your chosen product is legal and safe.

EDGE E-liquids have been carefully produced with your safety in mind. When tested, they were found to be 98.81% less harmful than cigarettes.
