The Ultimate Guide To Vape Kits
Vaping has been around for almost a decade and the amount of adult vapers now choosing to quit smoking and start vaping is the highest it’s ever been in the UK.
Over the years, technology has advanced as a whole and with that, vaping technology is no different, having evolved greatly over the last 10-15 years.
Gone are the days of simplistic 900mah batteries with semi-disposable clearomisers being the only vape kit option. In today’s market, there’s more choice than ever when it comes to different types of vape kit. Aimed at all levels of vaping experience.
We’ve written this comprehensive guide about vape kits to explain everything you need to know about them. Whether you’re a complete vaping novice reading this and not sure where to start, or a vaping aficionado looking to buff up on your vaping knowledge. This guide has everything in it to give you a clear understanding about vape kits and what they are all about so you can make informed decisions on your own vaping journey.
What Are Vape Kits?
As we mentioned, 10 years ago some of the very fist vape kits looked more like cigarettes than anything else. Featuring a small and slim battery, which had a screw on, pre-filled e-liquid cartridge. Once that cartridge ran out, it was disposed of and replaced with a new one. Sounds familiar to something used in current day right?
Since then, vaping has evolved significantly to include refillable vape kits that come in all different shapes and sizes. While capable of supporting various different styles of vaping, ultimately they all do the same job. A vape kit heats up e-liquid to turn it into vapour, which is then inhaled and exhaled as we elaborate on below.
Vape Kit Components Explained
What Is A Vape Tank/Pod?
What Is A Vape Tank/Pod?
This is what holds your e-liquid and also where your coil/atomiser is housed. It’s important to keep this clean and free of any dust/dirt/debris which we will explain more later in this blog.
What Is A Vape Coil?
What Is A Vape Coil?
A coil to a vape kit is like what the heart is to the human body. It keeps everything running smoothly and if it’s not looked after, then chances are your vape isn’t going to work properly. An atomiser is comprised of a small wire coil, wrapped a specific amount of times to create an ohms resistance. The coil is then heated up from the power of the battery and this is where your e-liquid is heated up and turned into vapour.
What Is A Vape Battery?
What Is A Vape Battery?
Exactly what it says! This is where the power comes from and makes your vape function. Most devices these days come with an internal battery. However some vape kits will use external batteries.
What Is A Wick?
What Is A Wick?
This is the part which is normally tucked away inside the atomiser and it’s threaded through the wire coil. It’s also the part of the atomiser which absorbs your e-liquid to be able to be heated and turned into vapour. This is the part which degrades over time and usage. Meaning you will need to replace your coils or pods.
How Do Vape Kits Work?
How a vape kit works and functions is a combination of all of the components we mentioned above. The battery is what powers it, sending a current through the coil wire to generate a controlled amount of heat. On most vape kits these days, you can adjust the wattage of your vape kit to your preferred output. Wattage is the unit of measurement used to describe the power from your battery that’s delivered to your vape coil.
When the coil is then heated up, it in turn heats up your e-liquid to turn into vapour. This is then inhaled and exhaled delivering flavour and nicotine to our bodies.
Besides this basic functionality, there are many different features that vape kits offer. This is where, for beginners, things can get a bit more technical. You may not be fully up to speed with all of the vaping jargon associated with advanced vape kit features. This is why we’ll explain the most common features below in detail.
Vape Kit Features Explained
What Is Variable Wattage?
Variable wattage is the term used which relates to the wattage of your vape kit being able to be manually adjusted. Thus making it “variable.” Another term that can be used to describe this would be “adjustable wattage.”
What is Automatic Wattage Adjustment?
Some vape kits will have an automatic wattage adjustment feature built in. This is where the device’s smart chip will detect the ohm resistance of your chosen vape coil and automatically set the wattage output to an appropriate wattage range. In some cases, you can still change the wattage to your preferred output, but we’d always recommend sticking to what the device auto sets it to, and some devices don't give you the ability to manually adjust it at all.
What Is Temperature Control?
Temperature control works in the same way as variable wattage but focuses more on the temperature of your coil. By regulating the power output of your device to suit the ohm resistance of the coil. It’s a little like automatic wattage adjustment but instead, it ensures that your coil remains at an optimal temperature throughout the time the coil is activated. This ensures a smooth and flavoursome vaping experience!
What is Adjustable Airflow/Airflow Control?
Not all vape devices have adjustable airflow but there are a significant number of kits which do, so we’ll explain all about it! Airflow is controlled by the series of small holes in your vape kit, often with a slider that restricts or opens them up. Normally located on either the side of the device or the back of the device, these holes allow air to flow through to your coil. The more air that gets to the coil will result in a more open-feeling vape inhale and this will produce a larger vape cloud.
Devices which have adjustable airflow, will have a slider control that can be moved up and down to either open the airflow or restrict the airflow. It’s recommended to restrict the airflow for a tighter MTL style draw or have it more open if you want a DTL style vape.
Inhale/Button Activation Explained
Inhale activated is exactly what it sounds like, where you simply inhale on the device and it will activate the coil to then heat up the e-liquid. This has become a common inclusion on many of the newer pod vape kits. As the size of the devices simply doesn’t have space for a button to be included on them and they also mimic the design of the single use disposable vape which is totally inhale activated.
Button activation is rather obviously when the device is controlled by a power button. When pressed, it will activate your coil to turn your e-liquid into vapour. There are also a big amount of vape kits that offer both inhale or button activation, rather than just one or the other.
Vape Batteries Explained
Of course, without a battery, your vape isn’t going to function as it won’t have any power! There are two different types of vape battery and we’ll explain below.
Internal Vape Batteries - The majority of vape kits today will come with internal vape batteries that can be recharged via USB cable. With more recent devices having USB-C charging but some of the older, and still popular devices, will charge via Micro-USB. Newer devices now included fast charging capabilities meaning your device can fully charge in around 30/40 minutes.
Internal battery devices offer an extra level of protection as they’re properly encased within your device and well protected from any damage as opposed to the opposite type of battery, which is...
External Vape Batteries - These are more associated with bigger sub ohm vape kits that require a higher level of power to fully operate. The most common type of external vape battery is an 18650 battery. However, 21700 batteries have seen a rise in trend, offering longer lasting life as well as more power.
These batteries are recommended to be charged with an external battery charger rather than charging them through the device as this may cause issues with the batteries correctly charging. It’s recommended that if you use external batteries, they are always kept in good condition with no nicks to the wrapping or dents as this may cause venting issues and pose a fire risk.
What is overcharge protection?
Most vape devices will have built in overcharge protection. Meaning that once the device is fully charged, the charging will automatically shut off. This prevents any risk of the battery being overcharged or overheating to give an extra level of safety. It’s always recommended that you do not leave your vape to charge overnight or unattended, just to be on the safe side!
Different Types Of Vape Kit Explained
There are many different types of vape kit available to buy these days, and whilst ultimately they all do the same thing of producing vapour which you inhale and exhale, they do differ from one another and we'll explain each one in detail below to help you gain a better understanding of each different type of vape kit.

What Is A Pod Vape Kit?
Pod vape kits have become all the rage recently, and they are actually something which have been around a lot longer than some people realise.
Pod vape kits are vape devices that use refillable vape pods with most having integrated coils for convenience. While some use replacement vape coils.
The pods are housed within a vape device. Many of the pod vape kits on the market today, like the Sonder Q2, have automatic wattage output settings. Alternatively, you can get devices like the Aspire Pixo which features variable wattage.
Pod vape kits first entered the vaping scene around 2017 and really took off in popularity. Before people opted to revert to disposable vapes. With disposable vapes being banned in the UK, people are now converting back to using pod vape kits creating a full circle of vaping trends and behaviours.

What is A Pen/aio vape kit?
The term “pen” relates to the style and shape of the vape device as they are normally slim and cylindrical shape making them convenient for transporting and slip nicely into any pocket or bag. AIO stands for “all in one” as pen vapes normally have the vape tank attached to the battery part of the vape device making it a complete all in one vape kit. The Aspire PockeX is a good example of an AIO pen vape kit.
Pen vapes were actually some of the first vape kits released on to the market after the initial cig-a-like vape devices were launched but technology has advanced since then and today’s pen vapes do not look anything like the original versions of them!

What Is A Mod Vape Kit?
Vape mods are more commonly associated with sub-ohm vaping. They are the larger vape kits, that can be run at higher wattages to produce larger and thicker clouds of vapour. These also use external batteries which we mentioned above in this guide.
Mods can be operated at higher wattages and paired with High VG vape juice to create the big clouds of vapour. Normally a mod kit will be the mod itself with a tank screwed on to the top of it, which uses replacement coils.

What Is A Pod-Mod Vape Kit?
These types of vape kit are somewhat of a “hybrid”. They combine both vape pods and vape mods.
They use refillable vape pods and these are housed in a large vape mod. The coils used in these pods will be of a lower ohms resistance for the vape device to be run at higher wattages. Allowing you to enjoy sub ohm vaping without having to use external batteries or vape tanks that use replacement coils.

What Is A Cartomiser/Cig-A-Like Vape Kit?
These vape kits deserve a spot in the vaping hall of fame as these were what which really accelerated vaping to where it is today. They’re still widely used in the modern day. They are powered by a small 280mah battery and uses screw on replacement cartomisers. Which come prefilled with e-liquid and are disposed of once the vape juice has run out.
Cig-A-Like is the name coined from the fact that the original design of these were a white battery with a screw on tip. That looked like the tip of a cigarette. Hence the name “cig-a-like”. Despite vaping technology advancing significantly since the first inception of these, we still sell a high volume of replacement Cartomisers to our loyal customers here at EDGE Vaping.

What is A Disposable Vape?
Chances are you already know what a disposable vape is. As there has been no escaping hearing about them or seeing people use them. They are single use vape devices. Prefilled with 2ml of e-liquid and inside the device casing is a small wire coil along with a wick.
These devices are fully inhale-activated and are not refillable nor rechargeable. Once they run out of battery or vape juice, the device is disposed of hence the term “disposable”.
The days of disposable vapes are numbered and we take a deep dive into the in’s and out’s of a disposable vape and why using refillable vape kits are much more viable than using disposable vapes!
disposable vapes vs refillable vape kits: which is better?
Are Disposable Vapes More Expensive To Use Than Refillable Vape Kits?
To give a short answer, yes! Disposable vapes are significantly more expensive to use, compared to the cost of using and maintaining a refillable vape kit. We will elaborate and break down the costings below.
The average cost of a disposable vape such as an Elf Bar or Lost Mary BM600 is £6. And for this £6 you are only getting 2ml of e-liquid contained in a non-refillable and non-rechargeable vape kit. Once this vape juice runs out or the battery runs down to flat, it renders the device useless and it’s then disposed of.
If you’re a frequent user of your vape device, you may get through 2ml of e-liquid in a fast amount of time. Therefore a standard disposable might not even last you for a full day before you’ll have to pay out another £6 for a replacement and this is the start of a (very expensive) cycle.
Are Disposable Vapes Dangerous?
Unfortunately, with the popularity of disposable vapes reaching an all time high in the UK, this opened the door for non compliant and counterfeit disposable vapes to filter into distribution. Stores were selling these counterfeit vape devices to unknowing customers.
With these being counterfeit, they’re made cheaply to then be sold cheaply en masse. Therefore, posing a massive safety risk. Who knows the quality of the components used inside these devices.
We would always recommend only ever buying your vape devices from a trusted retailer, like EDGE Vaping, who use the correct wholesale channels to only buy safe and compliant devices, registered on the MHRA portal.
Are Disposable Vapes Being Banned In The UK?
Yes they are. Disposable vapes are being banned from sale in the UK as of June 1st 2025. This ban has been a long time coming. Our current Prime Minister Keir Starmer is bringing an end to disposable vapes being available to buy in the UK.
We’ve written about this in more detail in our feature blog, but the primary reason these are being banned is because of the high volume of underage youths using these single-use vapes. As well as the detriment they are having on the environment because of the fact they cannot be recycled, despite being made out of plastic.
Is Using A Refillable Vape Kit A Good Alternative
To Disposable Vapes?
If you’re a current disposable vape user, you may be wondering how you’ll still be able to continue to vape once disposable vapes are banned in the UK. Well, fear not, as we have plenty of different options available to you as alternatives to disposable vapes.
Using a refillable vape kit opens so many more doors compared to using single-use disposable vapes. You can choose what ohm coil your device uses, try out different vaping styles, you can recharge your device once the battery runs low and of course, you can refill it with whichever vape juice you want to use!
Disposable vapes are commonly low-wattage and provide a mouth-to-lung style vape experience. They are sold prefilled with nicotine salt e-liquid, normally at a 20mg nicotine strength. With them being non-refillable and no other nicotine strengths commonly available with most brands, it’s a fairly narrow range of options.
Using a refillable vape gives you the ability to still use nicotine salt vape juices, but you can opt to use a nicotine strength slightly lower than the normal 20mg which comes as standard. You can also experiment with freebase nicotine vape juice as well, with more tapered nicotine strength options to choose from.
What Refillable Vape Kits Are A Good Alternative For Disposable Vapes?
We would recommend using either a refillable pod vape kit or refillable pen vape kit as an alternative for disposable vapes. This is because these vape kits will provide a similar vaping experience.
Some refillable pod vape kits are very low maintenance. With most of them utilising pods which have coils integrated inside the pods. This means you won’t have to get your hands messy by changing coils, as the entire pod is disposed of once the coil is burnt out.
There are many pod vape kits that have automatic wattage adjustment, so you won’t have to worry about changing the wattage settings, as the vape device does it all for you.
Pen vape kits also operate in a similar way and are sleek and slim in design. Much like a disposable vape but marginally bigger in length compared to a disposable such as an Elf Bar.
How To Choose The Best Vape Kit For Your Experience Level
When it comes to choosing a vape kit that’s suitable for you, as the metaphor goes; “learn to walk before you can run.”
Choosing the right vape kit relative to your vaping experience is a pivotal part of the process and we’ve picked out a few devices below that cater to all levels of vape experience.
The Best Vape Kits For Beginner Vapers
When starting out with vaping, you'll want a vape kit that's simple and easy to use, without any complex features like variable wattage or temperature control settings as chances are you won't understand these fully as a vaping novice which can lead to unpredictable results when adjusting them.
Aim to find yourself a vape kit that acts as an all-in-one and automatically sets the wattage output for you. Find pods or coils that have a higher ohms resistance so you'll get a mouth to lung style vape. We've chosen a few of the best beginner vapes below, but be sure to check out our full range!
The Best Intermediate Vape Kits
Once you’ve become more familiar with vaping, you may want to start exploring different features on a vape kit or trying out a different vaping style. Such as restricted direct to lung or direct to lung using High VG e-liquids.
To do this, you’ll need to look at a vape kit that uses either replacement coils, or replacement vape pods with coils that are rated around 0.6ohm or lower. These are often combined with a vape kit that either have variable wattage settings or adjustable power modes. We’ve chosen a few examples of intermediate vape kits below;
The Best Advanced Vape Kits
Vape kits which fit into the “advanced” category are those which will have variable wattage or temperature control settings and use coils capable of different styles of vaping. These kits are always recommended for more experienced vapers. Those who may have used a vape kit with variable wattage before or have an understanding of choosing the right wattage output based on the coil ohm resistance.
These types of vape kits are what you can work your way towards. You may find that you do not need a higher-strength nicotine vape juice and may want to experience sub-ohm vaping. Which is done using a low ohm coil, high wattage settings and high VG vape juice that has a low nicotine content.
Choosing the right vape kit for your preferred e-liquid
Choosing the right vape kit for you is only one step in the process of vaping. With the next step being choosing the right vape juice for your device! It comes down to the ohms of the coil in either your vape tank or vape pod, which dictates what type of vape juice you can use.
If you’re using a coil that is around 0.7ohms or higher, these pair best with 50/50 VG/PG e-liquids. Which is what traditional freebase nicotine vape juices are mixed at, as well as nicotine salts. These e-liquids are commonly associated with mouth to lung vaping, as the PG content is equal to the VG content. Meaning you’ll get a true throat hit when you inhale. Some vape kits are specially optimised for use with nicotine salt vape juices. The coil will normally feature a mesh design, which can boost the flavour of the already flavoursome nicotine salt e-liquids.
If you’re using a coil that’s around 0.6ohms or lower, this is associated with restricted direct to lung vaping as well as direct to lung vaping. Therefore opening the door for you to use High VG e-liquids. These are mixed at a higher VG ratio, to create thicker clouds of vapour. As well as providing enhanced flavour and normally requires a higher powered vape kit. As it needs to be able to heat the thicker e-liquid properly to turn it into vapour. We’ll go over some of the best vape kits to use for different types of vape juice below.

The Best Vape Kits For Nic Salt E-Liquids
Nic salts are designed to be paired with a vape kit which uses higher ohms resistance coils or pods, to provide a mouth to lung vape experience.
Therefore we would recommend the best vape kit to use with nic salt vape juices would be either a pod vape like the Aspire Gotek X, or a combination of both a pen and a pod vape like the Aspire Cyber G Slim.

The Best Vape Kits For 50/50 Freebase nicotine E-Liquids
Much like nic salt vape juices, standard 50/50 freebase nicotine vape juices are made to be used with MTL vape coils, with the best ohms resistance range to be at least 1.0ohm or higher.
Using a pen vape such as the Aspire
PockeX or Innokin Endura T18 II will give a true mouth to lung vape experience and these devices are optimised to be used with 50/50 e-liquids.

The Best Vape Kits For High-VG E-Liquids
When it comes to High VG e-liquids, you're going to need a vape kit which not only uses lower ohms resistance coils, but also a device capable of having higher wattage output due to the fact that High VG e-liquids are thicker, they take a bit more power from your coil to heat up and turn into vapour so bare this in mind when choosing your vape kit for High VG vape juice.
How To Choose The Right Coil/Pod For Your Vaping Needs
Choosing the right coil for your vape kit is an important stage of the process. As different coils relate to the different styles of vaping.
If you’re completely new to vaping and making the switch from smoking to vaping, you’ll want a coil that’s capable of doing mouth to lung vaping.
Whereas if you wanted a more restricted direct to lung or direct to lung vape experience, you’ll want to choose a lower ohm resistance for your coil.
These things are coupled with ensuring that the coil you do choose is compatible with your vape kit and can do different styles of vaping. Another thing to consider is to ensure that you choose the right replacement vape pod or vape coil that is compatible with your device.
Generally, the only vape pods or vape coils which will be compatible with your vape kit are ones which are made by the same brand as your vape kit. Recently, vape manufacturers have considered vapers seeking to upgrade or change their vape kit and made replacement vape pods which are compatible with various devices made by them.
For example, the replacement Q pods by Geekvape are compatible with the Sonder Q, Sonder Q2 as well as the Geekvape Wenax Pro. And Vaporesso Xros 4 is compatible with any of the replacement Xros pods, regardless of the ohms resistance as the device has adjustable power modes to cater to the varied ohms resistance coils.
However, not all coils are compatible with every device. For example, the Aspire K3 is only compatible with AspireNautilus coils. As well as the Aspire PockeX only being compatible with Aspire PockeX coils. Ensure you’re buying the right coils or pods for your vape kit when stocking up. As you don’t want to choose a non compatible one!
What Are The Different Styles Of Vaping?
Choosing the best vape kit for your budget
Vaping is considerably cheaper than the cost of smoking and by simply making the switch from smoking to vaping will instantly start saving you money. The most expensive part of vaping is your initial outlay costs to get fully set up and ready to go. But you don’t have to go all out and buy the best vape kit on the market that’s of a higher end price and capable of doing everything possible.
You’ll want to find and buy a vape that suits your budget which will get you off to a good start. And once you’re more experienced with vaping, you can consider upgrading to a more mid range vape kit before then treating yourself to one of the more pricier vape kits on the market.
We say pricey, but the average top end price for a vape kit is still only around £30-£35 which is cheaper than a pouch of rolling tobacco and will last you considerably longer! And even if a vape kit is cheap in price, it doesn’t mean it’ll be cheap quality as some of the best vape kits on the market today are less than £15! We’ll showcase a few below in different price ranges and maybe you’ll find one that fits your budget!
The Best Cheap Vape Kits
When it comes to choosing a vape kit, you don't have to break the bank when buying one, especially if it's your first vape kit. And more often than not, cheap vape kits perform just as well, if not better than some of the higher end price vape kits.
And don't be concerned by the moniker "cheap" as just because a vape kit is cheap in price, doesn't always mean that it's cheap quality. Some of the best vape kits on the market currently fall into the cheap vape kits category and they're ones that we would highly recommend.
Are Expensive Vape Kits Worth The Money?
As we’ve explained, vape kits are available in a variety of price ranges with some of the latest vape kits reaching the “higher end” pricing, but still remain around the £30 mark. For what you get with an “expensive” vape kit is really worth the money, as the build quality as well as the features on these vape kits really are worth the money.
Like we said above, you don’t have to go all out and buy a pricier vape kit for your first vape kit. Instead, you could find one you like and use it as an end goal reward to yourself for successfully quitting smoking and continuing on with vaping. After all, you’ll be saving a significant amount of money by not buying tobacco products anymore so the money could go towards buying a more expensive vape kit as an upgrade to your existing one.
What To Look For In A Vape Kit
-
Does it fit in your budget?
As we mentioned above in this blog, choosing a vape kit that fits your budget is essential as it’ll help keep the costs down and prevent you spending excessively on a vape kit that isn’t right for you. Sometimes, people will quit smoking as a way to save money as vaping is cheaper.
The average price of a vape kit you should be aiming for when choosing your first vape kit is around £15-£25. This will be a broad enough price range to ensure you get a reliable and long lasting vape kit!
-
Does it do everything you want?
If you’re buying a new vape kit for your first time, then you’ll want to make sure it’s capable of meeting your needs. If you’re quitting smoking and starting to vape, is the vape kit you’re looking at capable of mouth to lung vaping? Is it compatible with 50/50 e-liquid?
These two things are an essential part of ensuring your transition from smoking to vaping is as smooth and successful as possible as MTL vaping with 50/50 e-liquid will replicate the effect of smoking as closely as possible.
How To Use And Maintain Your Vape Kit
When you have your own vape kit, it’s crucial to keep it in good condition and looked after, as a well maintained vape kit will serve you for a long time.
Most vape kits come as fairly low maintenance, with the only frequent thing to maintain is changing the coil or the pod, but there’s also a few different things you must keep in check if you want your vape kit to continue to function as it should.
We’ve covered all of the areas below from setting up your first vape kit, all the way to choosing the right coil or pod!
How To Set Up Your New Vape Kit
Whilst not all vape kits are the same, the process of setting one up is pretty standard across the board so we’ll break it down in steps of what to follow when setting up your new vape kit.

Priming Your Vape Coil
This is a very important part of setting up your new vape device and it’s something you must make sure you do whenever you change your coil or vape pod.
Priming is the term used to describe what you must do to every new vape coil. This is where you need to saturate your vape coil with e-liquid so that it begins properly absorbing into the cotton wick of your coil.
This is done to prevent your coil being dry when you first have a vape with a fresh coil, as if it’s not properly saturated, then you’ll just instantly burn the cotton wick and this will render your coil useless from the get go. What we advise to do is fill either your vape pod or vape tank when the coil is in situ, and then leave it for at least 5 minutes so that the vape juice can absorb into the coil cotton and prevent any risk of dry burning.
Once the time has passed, we’d also recommend if your vape kit has variable wattage settings, keep it to a lower setting for the first few puffs and this gives your coil a chance to fully activate before the power is then ramped up.

Charging Your Vape Kit
Most vape kits will come out of the box with some amount of charge on them. We’d advise always putting your vape on charge prior to using it. This will give your battery a true full charge before it’s used and may aid in keeping your battery life healthy and longer lasting.
And always keep an eye on when your vape battery is starting to run to a lower number, as you'll want to put it on charge before it runs completely flat. We would always advise to try and prevent leaving your vape on charge and unattended. Never leave your vape on charge overnight, just in case of any hazards potentially arising.
How To Safely Charge Your Vape Kit
Nearly all vape kits will come with a charging cable in the box and we would always advise to use these cables. If you do not get a cable with your device, a basic charging cable will be fine to use.
It’s not recommended to use charging cables or charging plugs which are designed for smart phones. As the amps within these plugs are significantly higher, as they’re designed to charge phones which have a higher mAh capacity compared to a small vape device. This may cause your device to over charge which can be detrimental to your battery health.
How To Clean And Look After Your Vape Kit
Cleaning your vape kit is really simple and easy to do. You’ll want to aim to keep your vape tank or vape pod clear and clean of any debris getting into it. Especially if you keep your vape in your pocket or bag. As you may find fluff or dirt finds it was into your vape tank or vape pod.
If you do notice this, give it a gentle clean inside the tank or pod, if accessible, with some tissue or a cotton bud. If you have a vape tank, or a vape pod that uses replacement coils as opposed to integrated, you can put your pod without a coil in some warm water which will ensure a good clean.
Of course, make sure to dry it with either paper towel or leave to air dry before putting your coil back in and topping it up with vape juice.
Another key part of your vape to keep clean is the connection port between your vape device and either the pod or vape tank. Most pod devices will have a magnetic connection and it’s important to keep this clean so that your device will always read there’s a pod installed. You can give it a wipe with tissue if you notice there’s any vape juice on there or dirt/debris.
If your device has a screw in vape tank, it will be connected by a 510 connection and it’s imperative to keep this clean as well or it could lead to your vape device displaying the dreaded “Check/No Atomiser” warning.
Troubleshooting the most common vape kit problems
Why is my vape tank/pod leaking?
Leakage is frequent and frustrating. The main causes are:
- Old coil: Worn-out cotton doesn't absorb e-liquid properly. Replace the coil.
- Improper coil installation: Ensure the coil is fully and correctly sealed in the tank/pod.
What does "Check/No Atomiser" mean?
This warning on your device screen indicates it's not
reading the coil. Easy fixes include:
- Re-inserting the coil: If recently changed, ensure it's fully and correctly inserted.
- Cleaning the connection point: Dirt can prevent contact between the pod/tank and battery. Wipe it clean.
- Old coil: Some devices prevent firing if the coil is old and not functioning correctly. Try replacing it.
Why is my vape not charging properly?
Charging issues are also common and easily resolved:
- Check the charging cable: Ensure it's undamaged.
- Clean the charging port: Dust and debris can accumulate. Gently wipe it with tissue or carefully clean it with a thin wire.
