About The VooPoo Argus P2: An Underrated Flavour Powerhouse
VooPoo Are legendary in the vaping world, known for producing innovative vape kits of superior build quality that carry a premium feel and outstanding performance. Their Argus range of pod vape kits represents their most modern and arguably best vape tech to-date, and has featured some of the best pod vape kits we've seen in the last few years, particularly when it comes to flavour boosting.
The P2 might not be their most recent vape kit, being from 2024 and pre-dating the launch of their Argus G3 and G2 mini devices, but it stands as a flagship for VooPoo's advanced features. They really have squashed an awful lot of tech into this tiny device, and that's why it still holds its own against the very latest devices like Elf Bar's ELFX Pro, despite being over 12 months older.
From multiple pre-set firing modes alongside the freedom for custom wattage settings, to flashy gimmicks and a premium-feeling design, the P2 has something for vapers of all experience levels and preferences. Argus pods are interchangeable between all the kits in the series, but the P2 offers the most options for tailoring the kits performance to really get the most out of all the available vape pods, which includes 0.4ohm DTL/RDTL, 0.7ohm RDTL and 1.0ohm MTL options.
While the main drawback of this kit vs competitors is the price point, the Argus P2 does a lot to justify this in terms of sheer functionality and versatility. I winced a little at parting with nearly £30 when I first bought mine back in 2024 when it launched, but quickly found that the performance it offered me was more than enough to soften the blow - if you have a little more room in your vaping budget for a treat, this kit will definitely negate any buyer's remorse.

Look & Feel
The Argus P2 is clearly designed to look and feel premium, with a bit of creative flair for good measure. There are plenty of different colourways available to suit any style.
It is made from durable aluminium, which adds a nice amount of weight without being too heavy, denoting the quality of its build. It features a transparent housing around the internal chipset, which will be a plus for tech fans, alongside multi-function LED lights which can be tailored in the device's menu.
The OLED screen is bright and clear, easily displaying all the info you could need while using the device, while the stopwatch-style button on the top controls most of the functions, but feels well-made, with no plastic or rattling. This alos applies to the airflow slider, which feels strong and durable, adding to the very premium feel of this kit overall.

Functionality
I found the Argus P2 to be simple to use with clear and easy-to-navigate settings, while boasting enough versatility to satisfy even my particular preferences as a more experienced vaper.
You can quickly switch between a battery-life focused ECO mode, flavour-enhancing SPT mode, and balanced NOR mode with three clicks of the function button on the top of the device, with POWER mode giving you total control over the wattage output. These same functions can be accessed through the device's menu, with five clicks of the function button, but I found myself most often using the three-click switch instead.
This kit is inhale-activated but the function button doubles up as a manual firing button that could be accidentally pressed if not careful - so keep this in mind if you tend to leave your kit switched on when not in use.
Overall, the Argus P2 is easy to navigate, and didn't take long to get set up just how I wanted it. If you are a new vaper, the device will auto-adjust the initial power output according to your chosen Argus pod coil, if variable wattage feels a little daunting at first.
Getting Set Up: How To Use Argus Vape Pods
Right out of the box, you will have the choice of either a 0.7ohm or 1.0ohm refillable vape pod. VooPoo note that the built-in coils are mesh, which should translate to more efficient heating and flavour delivery, with a long lifespan depending on your chosen vape juice - I personally found this kit works best with nic salt e-liquids, which really allow the P2 to show off its patented icosm code flavour boosting tech.
The latest generation of Argus Pods actually came out after the P2 was released, but are 100% compatible and I would always recommend them over their predecessors. They are top-filling and follow a timeless design adopted by the majority of competing refillable pod vapes out there.
- Remove the pod from your P2 battery (if pre-installed) and remove the protective film from the contact points
- Pull back the silicone bung
- Pop the top of your e-liquid bottle into the filling port
- Gently squeeze the bottle to fill the Argus pod, taking care not to overfill
- Put the bung back in place to seal the port
- Put the pod back into your battery, allow it to absorb for a minute or two, and away you go.
If you are setting up the Argus P2 for the first time out of the box, and see a "check atomiser" warning when you insert your new Argus pod, you should ensure you have removed the protective tabs covering the contact points on the base of the pod. Argus pods are designed to be leak-free, and while using it I found this to be largely true, with only minimal liquid transfer forming after around 2 weeks of vaping.
The latest top-fill Argus pods are the very best they have to offer, with improved mesh working in tandem with the advanced programming of the P2's smart chip to deliver amazing flavour that competes with the very latest COREX Mesh tech from VooPoo's biggest rivals Vaporesso. Argus pods go 1 step further than Vaporessos Xros pods however, boasting an incredible lifespan that personally I have never matched with any other vape kit. VooPoo's official site for the P2 claims that this comes down to "golden cotton" used for wicking material, and a special "liquid seal shield" that delivers consistent performance for at least 30 days.
Ohms & Watts: ELFX Pro Pod Options Explained
The Argus P2 caters to both MTL and RDTL inhale styles, making it a good choice for both nic salts and freebase e-liquids. In a pinch you could get away with High-VG e-liquids too, thanks to the newer 0.4ohm Argus pod, but it is really designed for 50-50 e-liquid options.
Remember, power settings have a big impact on the overall vaping experience, so it is worth experimenting to find your individual ideal, just take care not to over-vape at high power as it can make you cough, burn the coils, and spoil the pod.
With three pod potions to choose from with different ohm ratings for the built-in coils, below I will explain my experience with each so you can make an informed choice:
0.4ohm Argus Pod
This is the latest pod option released by VooPoo for the Argus series, and is perfect for Restricted Direct To Lung (RDTL) vaping and even Direct To Lung (DTL) vaping in a pinch. The ohms of this coil are lower, meaning you can ramp up your P2's power, to get bold flavour and bigger vapour clouds. This option is the closest to a like-for-like disposable vaping style experience - ideal for vapers looking for an alternative product following the UK ban on single-use vapes. This Argus Pod option makes the most of the device's SPT Mode.
I found this option works best at 25-30 watts.
0.7ohm Argus Pod
This is another great option suited to Restricted Direct To Lung (RDTL) vaping. You can use any 50-50 e-liquids with this coil, but nic salts are best in my experience for a smooth and satisfying RDTL vape experience. While still punchy and flavourful, this coil option isn't quite as bold as the 0.4ohm variant. With that said, this option has a longer lifespan, especially when paired with the device's balanced NOR Mode.
I found this option performed well from 10 to around 20 watts, with higher settings feeling a little too extreme for the coil.
1.0ohm Argus Pod
This is the best coil option for vapers who prefer freebase e-liquids to nic salts. Although it will work fine with either option, as it is tailored for Mouth To Lung (MTL) vaping. I recommend using this coil option if you are out and about a lot, as it delivers unmatched battery life and general pod lifespan when paired with the P2's ECO mode. In fact, despite my personal preference for flavourful nic salts, I used more 1.0ohm Argus pods in my time with the device than any other option as it proved to be the most versatile in terms of overall device longevity and practicality during daily use.
This Argus pod works best at around 8-15 watts; delivering impressive flavour and vapour despite its higher ohm rating.
Tailoring Your Vaping Experience: How To Navigate The Argus P2 Vape Kit's Settings
The Argus P2 pod vape kit features a clear and relatively intuitive menu system. As I've mentioned before, it boasts customisation that will appeal to experienced vapers, while being simple enough to not alienate new vapers.
The OLED screen is clear and practical, delivering all the info you should need to use the device properly. The additional multi-colour LED lights are a bit unnecessary for me personally, and place more strain on the battery. With that said, they can be switched to represent the remaining battery life rather than just being a pretty lightshow, so there is some functionality there if you wish.
The device manual included in the box will guide you through everything you need to know, but you can explore the dropdowns below where I explain how to customise your Argus P2 to your personal preferences:
Output modes

The Argus P2 has four output modes, that can be cycled through with three quick clicks of the function button on top of the device. They can also be accessed through the settings menu, which we will explain in the next dropdown.
As previously mentioned, SPT mode boosts the power and ramp-up speed, heating the coil faster and to a higher temperature to deliver bolder flavour, bigger clouds and a more powerful overall 'hit'.
ECO heats the coil more slowly, but puts less strain on the battery. It still delivers excellent flavour, just not with the intensity of Turbo mode. The trade-off is that this mode preserves your coil lifespan and battery charge.
NOR mode is a balanced option acting as a middle ground between ECO and SPT.
Power mode is the fourth option, and literally gives you total control over the wattage output of the device. This is great for experienced users looking for a specific experience, but could be confusing for new vapers, who risk setting the power too high or low for their chosen coil.
SPT, ECO and NOR modes can work in tandem with power mode to optimise your custom wattage selection, or simply modify the device's performance in-line with the auto-power set when the device detects your chosen pod's coil resistance.

To access the more in-depth settings menu for the Argus P2 vape kit, you should press the function button 5 times quickly, which will open up the settings menu on the OLED screen.
The menu includes:
Puff reset - which resets the current number on the puff counter so you can track your vaping frequency.
Power/ECO/SPT/NOR - where you can customise the wattage output and performance of the device.
Turn off - this is the only way to shut-down the device when not in use.
To select any of the above options, you must click the function button once to cycle through them and press and hold to select.

To customise the wattage output of your Argus P2:
- Click the function button 5 times to open the settings menu
- Click the button and cycle through to the 'Power' option.
- Press and hold the function button to select Power mode
- Use the button to select your preferred power level
- Hold the function button to set the power and return to the menu

To get out of the menu, simply press the function button 5 times quickly again and it should revert back to the display screen ready for you to vape with your new settings applied. Equally, you can simply puff on the device once to revert to the normal screen.
Usability: Argus P2 Battery Life & Charging
The Argus P2 vape kit has an 1100mAh battery - while not terrible, this was a slight con of the vape kit overall. The flashy LED lights, especially when using the 0.4ohm Argus pod in SPT mode put quite a lot of strain on the battery, and I noticed myself needing to charge more frequently while using these settings. I am a heavier vaper, and found with this combination of settings the battery would not quite last me a full day.
VooPoo have given us the option to turn these lights off altogether, or change them to a monochrome display simply representing the remaining battery charge. I opted for the latter unless I was trying to preserve power the most.
Don't let the above put you off, as if you are sensible and set the device up accordingly, it can easily support at least a full day of even my heavy vaping. I was able to achieve this by using the ECO mode at a reduced wattage output and with the LED lights turned off. The 1.0ohm coil made the best of these settings and still delivered excellent flavour and vapour, leaving me more than satisfied.
When it comes to recharging, downtime is minimal as the P2 has 2A rapid charging via USB-C, allowing me to go from flat to 100% charge in 37 minutes!
Vape Juice Options: Which E-Liquid Works Best With The Argus P2 Vape Kit?
The Argus P2 proved to be a versatile kit that works well with 50-50 freebase e-liquids across a range of nicotine strengths, albeit at slightly reduced power settings in ECO mode to manage throat hit. The coils' mesh design and the smart chip's proprietary "icosm code" flavour boosting tech does a lot to enhance the less intense flavour concentrates used in typical freebase vape juice like our EDGE Core range.
With that said, this device really shines when paired with the rich, bold, double-concentrated flavour of modern nic salt vape juice. Using our own EDGE LIQ bar salt style nic salt e-liquid range, I enjoyed some of the best flavour definition and intensity I've ever known since starting vaping, even vs more modern kits - you can really tell this is what the Argus P2 is designed to work best with, and I highly recommend you do the same if choosing this kit.

Summary: Should You Buy The Argus P2 Vape Kit By VooPoo?
I honestly cannot recommend this compact powerhouse of a pod vape kit enough, and I still use mine today alongside a few others I have collected since first buying it over a year ago in 2024.
Yes, the price is a little expensive vs other kits that offer similar functionality, however the look and feel of this kit do justify the spend, let alone all the awesome tech they packed into its tiny housing.
While its out-of-box settings are not necessarily the best for battery life, all the options are there to turn off the bells and whistles (such as rainbow coloured LED light pulses) and strip it back to a highly customised vaping experience that is focusses on what you value most as a vaper - be it flavour, longevity, customisation or simplicity.
It might not be the newest device on the shelf, but VooPoo's constant evolution of compatible vape pod options, paired with the massive range of features the P2 offers, allows it to go toe-to-toe with even the very latest pod vape kits of 2025.
