Calculating Duty by Bottle Size

The vape tax will affect products by ml concentration. As a general rule of thumb, a larger bottle will have more tax implemented. Shortfills will therefore be most affected by the tax. The tax applies at a rate of 22p per ml of e-liquid, meaning a 10ml bottle of e-liquid will cost a further £2.20, followed by a 20% VAT charge, totalling at £2.64 extra tax. For the Core Range, as an example, this totals at £5.14.

Estimate Your Monthly Vaping Costs

The above calculator will provide a reasonable insight into your monthly vaping costs, depending on your bottle consumption rate, though this doesn't account for our multibuy options. If you choose to buy your e-liquids in bulk, you may be able to save by stocking up.

Currently, multibuy prices remain the same as they have been prior to the duty, and while we're unsure what the multibuy price will be after the duty, it will remain the most effective way to save money. Nonetheless, if you are worried about saving, be sure to stock up before the duty.

EDGE vs Other Vaping Brands

To compare the cost of EDGE with other premium vaping brands, we've compiled the average prices after duty. Do note that whilst this applies the current price, average prices of other brands may vary after the tax.

Size 10mL
Base amount £0.00
Duty amount £0.00
Subtotal before VAT £0.00
Total inc. VAT £0.00
Figures are estimates based on HM Treasury’s current Vaping Products Duty rate of £2.20 per 10ml effective 1 Oct 2026. Actual retail prices may vary. VAT shown at 20%.

Costs of Smoking vs Vaping

The government intends to keep vaping cheaper than smoking. This means despite the duty, vaping will still be a much cheaper alternative to smoking. The Retail Price Index cites the average cost of a pack of 20 cigarettes being £16.60 in January 2025. This is only projected to increase, meaning even if vaping costs increase in the future, it will still be the cheaper alternative to smoking.
