How Much E-Liquid Can I Put in Refillable Pod Kits?
To abide by the TPD regulations that were introduced to the vaping industry back in 2016, every vape tank or vape pod must only have a 2ml maximum capacity for vape juice.
What Types of Vape Juice Can I Use in my Pod Vape Kit?
Opting to use vape pod kits with refillable pods does give you chance to customise your vaping experience by being able to fill it with the vape juice you want, in whichever flavours and nicotine strengths that best suit you.
However, certain types of vape juice do require specific coils to be able to turn the e-liquid into vapour. If you're wanting to use freebase nicotine vape juice or nic salt vape juice with a 50/50 VG:PG ratio, then it would be best to use a coil that is 1.0hm or higher as this will give a true MTL (mouth to lung) vape experience.
If you're wanting to use a High VG vape juice, normally a 70:30 ratio which our Edge MAX range is, then you'll want to consider using a lower resistance coil like 0.7 ohm or lower. This means that the thicker e liquid will be able to be absorbed into the cotton and the device can run at a higher wattage to turn the e-liquid into vapour.

Does My Vape Pod Kit Have Replaceable Coils?
Some refillable pod systems will use pods that have a fixed coil housed within the pod, and you just replace the entire pod when the coil is burnt. While some vape pods will have removeable coils which are changed over once they are burnt out.
Make sure to read our product descriptions to learn if your chosen device uses changeable pods with built-in coils or uses replaceable coils. Replacement pods and coils are sold separately on EDGE.
Also, ensure that the replacement pods or changeable coils that you purchase are compatible with your device. A lot of the leading brands sell a lot of different devices and the large majority of pods and coils are specific to the device and not universally fitting.
What Is a Vape Coil?
A coil to a vape is essentially the heart to a vape device. It's the heating element that heats the e-liquid up in your pod or tank, and turns it to vapour for you to inhale.
Coils are made up of a small piece of wire wrapped around a specific amount of times which then gives the ohms reading.
A thin piece of cotton wick is then threaded through which is where your vape juice is absorbed into, and the coil heats up this liquid and cotton to produce the vapor.
When Do I Know to Change My Vape Coil?
Knowing when to change the coil in your e cigarette will be quite obvious due to a couple of tell tale reasons.
You might notice that your e-liquid will not taste the same as it normally does, and might have a bit of a burnt taste to it. That'll be from the cotton wick inside your coil being burnt away thus making your vape juice not taste quite right.
You might also see that your e-liquid turns a darker colour inside your pod or vape tank, again, this is from the cotton within the coil being burnt and making your e-liquid discoloured.
How Long Will The Coil In A Vape Pod Last?
The average life span of a coil, whether it's fixed-coil refillable pods or removable coils from the pod, is around 7-10 days. This can vary depending on your vaping style, what wattage you have your device set to (if it has adjustable wattage) and what type of liquid you are choosing to use.
How Do I Refill My Pod With E-Liquid?
Vape pods often have the same refilling method where there will be a rubber bung on the side of the pod which you can remove and then fill your pod up with e-liquid.
Other pods have a removeable top cap and you refill it from the top rather than the side. Read the instruction booklet that comes with your vape kit to get a full understanding of how to refill your device.
What Are Prefilled Pods?
Pre-filled pods differentiate from refillable pod kits as they involve less maintenance and offer a convenient and hassle free approach to vaping for the less experienced vapers or vapers who may want to step away from vaping maintenance with their regular device.
They differ from open pod systems in the way that the pods are already prefilled with e liquid and are sealed with the coil inside, meaning you cannot refill these pods once the vape juice runs out. Instead, you simply throw away the used pod and replace it with a new one and it's as easy as that!

What Are Ohms and Resistance?
Ohm level measures electrical resistance within a coil, and this then determines what wattage your vape needs to be set at to ensure you get the optimal vaping experience.
If you have a higher resistance coil, then it must be ran at low wattages, and lower resistance coils should be ran at higher wattages as we explain below.
In short, the lower the ohms, the higher wattage it can be run at, and the more cloud and flavour you will get.
And to reverse that, the higher the ohms of the coil, the lower wattage it must be ran at, and this will only produce smaller amounts of vapour.
Plus Ohm Coil = 1.0hm or higher. Suitable for mouth to lung vaping.
Sub Ohm Coil = 0.9ohms or lower. Suitable for restricted direct to lung, direct to lung as well as sub-ohm vaping.
